NJ ACTS Special Populations 2021 Webinar Series presents Assistant Professor Qiana L. Brown, PhD, MPH, LCSW speaking about “Use and Perceived Risk of Use Among Pregnant Women in the U.S.”
Prenatal cannabis use has increased over the past decade, despite potential risks to maternal and child health. This seminar examines the relationship between cannabis use and perceived risk of cannabis use among pregnant women in the US. Dr. Brown, an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Maternal and Child Health at Rutgers School of Social Work and School of Public Health, is an epidemiologist, social worker and translational scientist. From a health equity framework, her research focuses on system-level change to improve maternal and child health – centering on preventing prenatal substance use and examining the roles of the built and social environment and health and social policy in shaping substance use and other health outcomes among women, youth and families.
