Big Data, Small Data, and the Implications for Human Subjects Research,” presented by OHRP staff at a Research Community Forum at the Hilton Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ on April 4-5, 2017. The workshop will examine several important issues that arise from the use of big data. Research with large datasets to reveal patterns and associations, along with the development of personalized medicine that these analyses have allowed, present legal, regulatory, and ethical implications for researchers and participants.
